New Items and Craft Fair

Yesterday was a fantastic day! We were part of a small craft fair (same one as last year). Sue couldn't join me as she had to work at the "real" job but I represented both of us. I admit I did call her around 5 times to check in and verify prices and custom work and such. We were in a new location and traffic wasn't as good but we had a lot of interest ultimately. Several people asked about making custom items for them and that always exites us!

Thanks to all of you who stopped by and/or bought things or expressed interest in custom items. We appreciate the compliments and interest!

Among the things we have available are beautiful recycled clutches, handmade travel journals, art quilt wallhangings and more! (See photos below or in the gallery.)

A couple photos of the items we had at the fair yesterday are here:

Journals and more Journals!

I just spent the evening getting ready for a craft fair that I'm joining on Friday. It's a small one at the office building where I work. We participated in the same one about 18 mo ago and had a great time and great feedback. Sue can't join me as the "real" job demands her time all day Friday. BUT some of her items will be joining me including her keychains and several handbags - the new "recycled" ones. I haven't seen them yet but plan to take photos. Yes I'll post them. I'm excited. Other than my husband, Sue is the only one to have seen my journals. Of course she's a bit supporter and I'm really proud of how they turned out.

Stay tuned...I'll update with photos of items and the show.

Photos - Finally getting them posted.

Life is crazy and good and fun and stressful and and and...What else can I say, the world is full of colors and fascinating.
I finally am able to post some photos of the doll dress wall hangings I made this past November on commission. I hope three little girls enjoy them hanging in their rooms!

Guest appearance!

Well folks, I wanted to share a photo my niece sent showcasing her most recent quilt project - queen size bed quilt. I wonder how she does it with two little busy boys at home, working part time and do her own home decorating and remodeling!
It's beautiful and well done! On to the next one!

Ah Journals...

So have I told anyone about my newest hobby in addition to the art quilts? The journals, thanks to Dawn Devries Sokol, I'm too passionate about these!
Here's the latest I made on a girl's weekend in December!

Finally - Framed Art

Well I think I forgot to mention that I liked one piece of artwork that I made in August that I wanted to mat and frame it! Done! What do you think?
It's dyed white muslin with collage, including tea bags (used and dried), tissue paper, inks, paints, and more...

You ask... where have I been...

I cannot believe that I haven't posted in a while. It doesn't mean I haven't been working/creating. I've been very busy in the "real world" AND have had several commissions to accomplish. Three more doll quilts and pillow covers. All gorgeous! and I did the worst thing...I didn't take PHOTOS!!!

I've asked my clients to do so and email them to me. I'll post soon!

Newest project!

What have I been working on? Well I finally finished the t-shirt quilt. I will deliver it to the client tomorrow. You'll see in the photos that it's not a traditional t-shirt quilt but rather fussy cut with lolts of girly and bright colors (yes it's for a woman). The reverse side is much more subdued of linen, french provincial and dupioni silk fabrics.

Enjoy!

Where have I been?

If you ask me where I've been ...I'd say I don't have a good answer. Took a short vacation with my husband to San Antonio, Texas and hired a new employee at work (finally!). Of course I'm creating. Using my new journal, while finishing a quilt (the one made of the sorority t-shirts). I'll post pictures soon.

The weather has changed here in the midwest and it's definitely autumn here. Gorgeous sunsets with red and purple skies and a chill in the air. The nesting instinct is running high and I've been baking, cooking and cleaning!

I'll be back soon...
